This course explores the intersection of trauma and bodywork, offering massage therapists a trauma-informed framework to safely and compassionately support clients who may be living with the effects of emotional, physical, or psychological trauma. Therapists will learn how trauma is held in the body, how to recognize trauma responses, and how to adjust their practice to be safe, client-centered, and healing.​​

This course covers the following:

• Understanding the physiological and neurological impact of trauma on the body

• Recognize common trauma responses during bodywork sessions

• Determine a plan of action moving forward to successfully administer massage for those experiencing traumatic responses

• Establish safe, clear communication and boundaries for clients with trauma histories

• Learn grounding techniques and nervous system regulation strategies

• Explore scope of practice, red flags, and appropriate referral procedures

A non-refundable deposit of $48 is required to hold your spot. Once you complete the registration process, a confirmation email will be sent to you. The remaining tuition balance is due 2 weeks prior to class. Upon completion of this course, you will receive 4 credit hours, which you can apply to your NYS LMT registration renewal, NCBTMB certification, AMTA or ABMB renewal.
