Eyeliner FAQs
IS PERMANENT EYELINER PAINFUL?
Permanent Makeup can be uncomfortable to some however it will not be painful.
Topical analgesics are used throughout the procedure to minimize discomfort.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Color retention varies from person to person, some color can last 6 months before needing a touch up while others can last 3 years. Color retention has many contributing factors such as skin type, products used, aftercare, sun exposure and exfoliation. Since this service is performed with a machine and a tattoo needle, color tends to be much more permanent than that of microblading.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR PERMANENT EYELINER?
Permanent Eyeliner can be performed on any skin type ages 18+. Lasik, cataract, lens implantation, eyelid lift and any other type of eye surgeries require about 8-12 weeks of healing before undergoing Permanent Eyeliner and do not affect eligibility.

IS THERE DOWN TIME?
There is no need to refrain from most daily activities after Permanent Eyeliner, the area may have slight to moderate swelling for a day or so, minor bleeding may occur during application, some tenderness may occur for a few days after. The area will darken and flake off similar to a thin scab and be fully healed in 7 days. Some medications may cause healing to take a little longer, please check in regarding medications at consultation.

WHAT DO I DO FOR AFTERCARE?
It is important to keep the area clean by washing with recommended soap, avoiding makeup or face products on or near the area for 7-10 days, avoid excessive sweating for 2-3 days, refrain from swimming with your head submerged for 7 days and avoid contact lens use the day after. If you are using medicated eye drops or OTC allergy eye drops please advise your technician.

WHAT DO I DO THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT?
Please refrain from wearing eye makeup, contact lenses or glue on lashes to your appointment. Drink water and relax!

WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF PERMANENT MAKEUP?
Infection is the number one risk. To avoid any bacteria entering the site avoid touching your eyelids until they are healed and wash with antibacterial non-scented soap. Color migration or blow out beneath the skin can also occur if your lids are thin and can leave an eyeshadow appearance. Carbon based pigments can also leave the color distorted resulting in a duller or off-tone finish to the liner.
